LuLing Young is now in her eighties, and finally beginning to feel the effects of old age. Picked up at the London meet on Tuesday evening. I wasn't supposed to go.. then decided I'd pop my head round the door.... eventually got home at 11.50pm.

Prompted by the fact that this was on the wishlist of my BCBirmingham Secret Santa, I finally read this in the last few days.
Like several of this nature, the novel is set in 3 parts.
Part I sets the modern day scene of the daughter, Ruth, in America, trying to deal with her confused Chinese mother and less than committed partner.
Part II deals with the translation of the mothers life as a girl and young woman in China.
Part III reconciles the current day story.
