I bought this beautiful children's book at a charity shop in my neighbouring city of Kitchener, Ontario.

I really love the Northern Lights, so I was excited to find a kids' book about them. It was interesting to read the traditional Innu belief about the Lights, and this book presents it very nicely-- in addition to the way the book is written, the illustration and the beadwork are both lovely. The story was particularly close to my heart as my own mother passed away when I was just a little girl.

My husband and I are hoping to go on a big roadtrip soon, all the way to British Columbia! He has never seen the Northern Lights, and I'm really hoping we'll encounter them on our trip so I can share them with him. I hope to take this book along with us; if we see the lights, perhaps I'll leave the book wherever that happens!

We did not see the Northern Lights on that 2017 roadtrip, so we decided to save it until my husband got to see them so we could leave it wherever that happened. One time between then and last night we saw something that might have been the Northern Lights, but we weren't completely sure and Husband wanted to save it until he was positive. Last night he saw the Lights-- 100% for sure-- for the first time in his life, and it happened on a rural road just outside of Stratford towards Sebringville. There was no place to leave a book just there, so we've decided to look around that end of Stratford for a Little Free Library to put it in.
