"This is another story of the six Bastable children, first met in The Story of The Treasure Seekers. They have become a little more prosperous, but as the eldest remarks, 'It is wonderful how soon you get used to things, even the things you want most... watches for instance.'
After a particularly bad escapade at the Indian uncle's house, they were sent away to the country, to a house which had a real, water-filled moat round it. The moat, of course, here provides new fields for adventure. They formed themselves hopefully into a Society which they called 'The Wouldbegoods' - but they only meant they would if they could, which even they thought unlikely."

Picked up in the load from Weebly at Christmas - yep, I've still not registered them all! This book was first published in 1901!!
