I loved this book. It's a bit odd in parts, but the writing is first-rate; the story is wonderful. A great anytime read.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

This bridge carried Highway 101 - the Redwood Highway - over the Klamath River until the Christmas Floods of 1964. Several days of rain and snow, followed by a couple days of warmer weather swelled the Klamath and many other area rivers to unforeseen heights. Raging waters choked with massive debris destroyed the Douglas Memorial Bridge, leaving only the bridge footings and these two historic bears on its banks. The highway's been re-routed to a new location a bit further inland, but the ol' bears remain. Your book will be found on the left paw of the right bear.

I caught this book, Aug. 28, 2005 on a old bridge that is no longer used, it had 2 large bears on each side. The book was resting on the feet of one of the lions.
I enjoyed reading it as I was vacationing in CA, I was on my way back home to NC, so when I finished it I left in a rest area, Interstate E 40, Crossville, TN. This novel is a lavish scope of ingenious. A little diffrent from my normal reading style but enjoyable , a lot of food for thought.
