Where the Sidewalk Ends: The Poems and Drawings of Shel Silverstein

A superb book, both in the writing and the illustration. As one who occasionally tries to write verses for Kate, I am constantly in awe of this man's ability to reduce complex ideas to simple yet enduring, elegantly designed works. This is one of our favorite books, and we are both delighted that it will have a wonderful new home...

On its way to Florida, with visions of many happy bedtime stories still to come. With my best wishes...
"Listen to the MUSTN'TS, child,
Listen to the DON'TS
Listen to the SHOULDN'TS
The IMPOSSIBLES, the WON'TS
Listen to the NEVER HAVES
Then listen close to me-
Anything can happen, child,
ANYTHING can be."

Just received in the mail today!! Thanks soo much...will begin the journey of reading this with my son. I admit...I'm excited to read it too! :)
I had to make a entry to say since we received this book, my son and I are loving it! My memory of this book when I was younger is coming back and I can remember loving it then as well as now. Every night my son will bring me the book and ask to read it to him. He gets a kick out of it! His favorite so far is page 98-99 Titled The Dirtiest Man In The World. It's probably because he's a boy! ;) I'm sure as I read it to him time and time again, more favorites are sure to come. Thanks again for giving us a chance to experience this time together with this great book!
