Crazy Horse: The Strange Man of the Oglalas

This is a beautifully written book, and could easily be considered the definitive work on Crazy Horse. Sandoz pulls no punches - she does not hesitate to provide as objective a story as she can: when the sources support Crazy Horse as less than ideal, she says so. Methodologically the book is somewhat dated and was never first water, but Sandoz was only partially trained as a professional historian, and never treated like one.
