During an army exercise on the ranges in Northumberland National Park, a barefoot young woman runs into the line of fire. It's clear that she was running from something to end up there, and before long Ryan and Phillips are hunting a killer. Meanwhile a terrorist gang is attacking mosques and synagogues, and Lowerson and Yates are looking for clues as to who is behind it. Great drama as the parallel threads of the story unfold, even though I'm starting to feel like there's a different serial killer in the north east every other week!

Another really good story, this series always keeps me hooked from the first page to the very last. Tangled story lines come together for a satisfying end, although the North East does seen a dangerous place for women :-)

Not my favourite I’m afraid. A lot of quite glaring errors about the military which I found really distracting. It was nice to catch up with old friends though.

Will be handed over in person at the next Leicester meet.
