It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post.

Michael Palin is my hero and his travel programmes have inspired not only me but so many other people as well. This is the first book following the steps of Phileas Fogg travelling around the world in 80 days. Expect a wonderful travellogue with Michael's usual banter and witty observations.

Had a few requests for this book so decided to trial this as a bookring.
Since it's my first attempt would like to limit to 5 particpants. Please do not keep book longer than 4 weeks. Cheers

This is a fairly entertaining diary from the wonderful Mr P. I remember the TV programme well so it was nice finding out what Michael Palin was thinking and feeling during the journey. I was slightly disappointed by the book though. I felt that a lot was missed out or skimmed over. I love travel books and I just didn't find this one as engaging as others I've read, despite the funny moments. It has encouraged me to dig out my 'Around the World in 80 Days' DVD though!

Arrived this morning in the post - placed at the top of my pile.

Edit: Finished this a while ago (sorry for the delay in moving it on). I'll pass it on soon!

I like all of Palin's travel books because they give you a slightly different viewpoint from the TV programme. If you take them both together they complement one another wonderfully.

I just got this from the mail, thanx cwoods, thanx kinedi, I'm looking forward in reading, I saw the tv series here in Portugal a couple of years ago and I simply love to travel and I'm a Monthy Python fan, and I loved the Michael Palin's character in "A Fish called Wanda", one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, so reading the book will allow me to know Michael Palin a bit further through his voyages. Will try and read it fast, and then release it to the otherbookcrosser in line. Obrigado (thanx in portuguese).

Lovely book, although I kind of got bored with some details and private jokes that only british people can understand. I'm portuguese so... but I loved the Egypt and India bits, my dream trips are actually these 2 countrys. I'd love to visit the Taj Mahal for example. Ok, so now I'm waiting for the next bookcrosser who is "eagerly waiting" to read this book, and will mail it no sooner than October 28th. Thanx again kinedi and sorry for the delay. BON VOYAGE!

Oh dear - I forgot to journal this when it arrived. It's ready to send along to its next reader - will update once it's in the mail.

UPDATE: The next person on the list is out of town until mid-July, so I will hold onto the book until then.

UPDATE: I'm sorry - I forgot about this ring for a while, and now the next participant seems to be in the middle of moving. I have sent a PM for her address, and will send it along once I get a reply (she mentions having only limited internet access).

UPDATE: Neuilly is unable to accept this ring, so I'll send it back to the owner, unless there is someone else it should go to.
