I've never read anything by James Joyce so I decided to take this out of the bookbox.
This was my first James Joyce (who knows, one day I might actually read Ulysses). I liked the stories and I even recognized some of the places mentioned (I visited Dublin a few years ago). Some stories left me a bit puzzled, I think it would have been nice to know more about the historical context.

I finally read this book and liked it. I have been fond of James Joyce for quite a while and after visiting Dublin last fall it was facinating to read this book. I liked some short stories more than the others, in some of them I really felt the emotions that the caracters felt.
I added this book to my Book from every country -challenge as Ireland, ofcourse.
I'm passing this book on to Annelis, who picked it up from the Finnish pigbag nr.1.

Oh, this is quite a cute piglet from the sack, nöf nöf! It is not so long ago when I thought that I should read this book. I visited Dublin some five years ago and said hello to the statue of James Joyce.
