I've enjoyed Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" tales, which center on Dream, aka the Sandman, one of the Endless - anthropomorphic personifications of sleep, death, fate, etc. I hadn't realized that Gaiman's characters had branched out into manga until I saw a copy of Jill Thompson's At Death's Door on the book relay site - it features Dream's sister Death, who mostly appears as a cute and cheerful young Goth girl. Well, I had to claim that book, and then I looked up Thompson's other work - and found this, her version of The Endless (Death, Dream, and their brothers and sisters - and of course the androgynous "prince/ss" Desire) as children. A quirky thought, but again, I couldn't resist!

I found this charming in a weird sort of way - or maybe that's "weird in a charming sort of way" - but it probably wouldn't mean much if you weren't already familiar with Gaiman's "Endless" from the Sandman series. This dog's-eye-view of a day in the life of Delirium is cute, though!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

I plan to release this at about 7:30 Thursday at the Cafe Bella Vita at 30 Charles Street, during the unofficial mini-meet with visiting BCer aliaskris29 (see the forum thread here). Will probably spread all the books out on the table for whoever stops by (whether you've come to meet or just for the book!); any left over will be put on the bookshelf in the cafe for whoever would like them.

*** Update: turns out the cafe closed at five - early closing hours during summer vacation, apparently. We had a lovely mini-meet at the nearby Starbucks. On the way back to the T, I left this book propped up in the metal railing around a tree in front of Savenor's; hope the finder enjoys it!
