The Dante Club : A Novel

I'm not sure if this book, which bears some weird resemblance to the DaVinci Code, was just coincidentally released, or if there was a plan. It is a somewhat contrived story involving real-life poets and writers in the post-Civil War era. They are translating Inferno when murders, based on deaths in that poem, start happening. With the help and at times, hindrance, of a black police officer (the only one in Boston), they work to solve the case. Requires a fair amount of concentration to get through. I'm sure some readers will like it more than I did.
