Very sweet book! I fell in love with Mma Ramotswe--her heart, her conscience, and her confidence. I love that an overweight woman is the star of the story and proud to be hefty! This book is more like a series of small stories, because each of her cases could stand alone, but the framework of her life and friendships adds a lot of depth to it. The lady detective is clever and pretty fearless, and knows how to turn events to her advantage.

The front cover uses the word "hilarious" to describe this book, and I did not find that to be true. I chuckled a couple of times but found this to be more touching and comforting than funny. I would highly recommend this book, and now I have yet another series to add to my wish list!

Thanks for sharing this one goygirrl! I have PMed Bunnylady for an address and will get this off to her ASAP.

Update 7-7-05: Mailed to Bunnylady today!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

I found this to be a quick and easy read, but fun the whole way through. I thoroughly enjoyed it as a break between more demanding novels. I'd like to read the other books by this author now!

I took this book with me when I hiked to the top of Mt. Si near Seattle, Washington. When I got up there, though, it was still cloudy so I couldn't see out for the view. I decided to sit down and wait for the clouds to clear up, so I read about 200 pages of this book on the top of Mt. Si. Unfortunately, it never really did clear up, but I've included a picture of this book there.

I mailed this book out to the next person on the list earlier this morning. Thanks so much for sharing with me!

This is nothing like what I normally read and nothing like what I thought it would be like, but, even so, I really enjoyed it.

I'll be sending it along as soon as Jaysgirl sends me her address.
