3 journalers for this copy...
true story of three generations of women from the 1900's thru to the late 1970's?
it is a little fictional in places but all the while well written... the stories are sometimes hard to follow as some of (esp the grandmothers life) the plot ingredients are no longer revelent/commonplace
its all the while very informative and quite moving, very deep and serious (not reccomended for holiday beach reading)
its very politically analytical of China's past, this made for some drab reading if you are not in to politics esp of the communism flavour
all in all to be reccomended if you are in to China's history

Just arrived in the post today. Many thanks liltricks! I'm looking forward to reading this.
I very much enjoyed this book and feel that it taught me a lot. I would highly recommend it and I'm passing it on to jzp.
Received from dct along with a deadline for reading before passing on to flora-post.
Didn't manage to read it in time. Passing on to flora-post. Will hopefully catch it later :)
