This is a book for animal lovers. The story is told alternately by a girl named Amber and a squirrel named Woodbine. You get to see how one event is seen from two different perspectives. It would be a great jumping off point for many discussions with kids about cultural differences and how things can be seen many different ways. It is also a fun read, in the style of Brian Jacques' Redwall books or Watership Down.
