I got this softcover at a local Newbury Comics store. I'd enjoyed Volume 2 and was curious to see where the story would go.

Turns out the whole secret-identity/bakeneko business becomes a key part of the plot - though the first story is more of a mistaken-fear situation: the "servant" Yukiharu gets a blackmail note that he fears has to do with outing the two cats-as-students, only to find that the blackmailer is a coach who wants them for their athletic prowess.

The larger story here is set at a very odd carnival, where a young man named Luka attempts to capture two of the catlords-in-cat-form to make them performers. When Yukiharu steps in, things get complicated - not least because it turns out that Luka works for a bakeneko catlord too!

Amusing elements here, but overall not as much story as I'd hoped. But the cats are very pretty {grin}.

I left this book in the Little Free Library on this very warm day; hope someone enjoys it!
