2008 Avon paperback tale of a Duke, who keeps his fiancee waiting, and then discovers that he may be a pretender to the title, and that the woman he did not get around to marrying may be promised to the real Duke instead, while he is falling in love with her. I found this copy last week in the middle Brown Little Free Library.
I can let this go after I read:
1995 Splendid [read 2024]
1995 Dancing at Midnight [read 2024]
1996 Minx [read 2024]
2000 The Duke and I [read 2024]
2001 An Offer from a Gentleman [read 2023]
Edit May 3, 2024: This was good, but I just skimmed to end for time. It runs a bit long. I currently have this ranked at #3486 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
