Seduction of Water

_The Seduction of Water_ is a difficult tale to describe. On the surface, it seems almost bland, but as you continue reading it becomes more and more engaging. You follow a first-person account of a writer, Iris Greenfeder, as she begins to investigate the mysterious story of her mother---also a writer---who died in a hotel fire when she was ten. The tale is also closely interwoven with an Irish folktale "The Selkie" and how it inspired Iris' mother and also the seeming similarities between it and her real life.

I was walking through Burnham Park with my 8 month old son and a friend today when we spotted this book on a bench. Great idea! Looking forward to reading this book, it looks really good, just the kind of thing I like to read.
