Jane Smiley seems to have a wide range. I've read A Thousand Acres and Moo, which were vastly different from each other. This one is set in 14th Century Greenland. Should be interesting.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Another of the "strife on the farm" Jane Smiley works; I loved it. A complex tapestry of a (mostly) forgotten place in the 14th century, this seemed like a satisfying, bloody read. It's a "brick" to be sure, but one very much worth reading.
