I suppose that this book has an appropriate title since the story line is full of engines. These are not exactly the type of engine that the modern (twenty-first century) would call an “engine”. There are horse-drawn engines, there are time pieces that are called “engine”, but the reader will eventually get used to it. This story could possibly be described as a nineteenth century science fiction story. I will leave my comments at that and wish the twenty-first century reader to their own devices (or engines).
