Thank you very much indeed, Poodlesister, for this book and the other goodies! What a lovely surprise!
I have ready a few of Tim Winton's books, and enjoyed this very much. His descriptions of the Australian landscape are excellent, and I felt I could feel the heat, the mud, the mozzies etc. as the story went along. I was not so happy with the lack of quotation marks for the dialogue though. That's fine if it is obvious which parts are speech, and the speakers have more distinct voices, but the inner dialogue that interspersed the speech meant I kept having to go back and work out who was speaking next.
That said, I really enjoyed the book and also learnt some new words. And I didn't know about the existence of quolls. Quokka, yes, but not the quoll!
Thanks for sharing!
