The publisher was giving away copies of this book to Little Free Library stewards. I think I’ll read it before I put it in my library.

I don’t read a lot of memoirs, probably because so many are the author’s way of dealing with life trauma. This book was no different; Mikel Jollett’s life after escaping from the Synanon cult was harrowing, and it’s not surprising how long it took him to seek help for the psychological damage inflicted on him by his upbringing. It ultimately was a hopeful story. I’m glad I received it as part of Celadon Books’ Little Free Library giveaway program. It’s going into my library this morning.
