Margaret Atwood had a lot to live up to in my mind, a sequel nearly 30 years after I first and loved the first one. I thought this book was really strong, gave a fascinating look at the mechanisms behind the authoritarianism of Gilead. It was oppressive and hard to read at times, imagining the loss of control. The ending was a bit pat for me, things tied up a bit too nicely, but overall, so good.
