This book is set in Chicago in the 1980's at the height of the AIDS crisis. Going back and forth in time between the mid-80's and 2015, it focuses on Fiona, who grieves for her brother Nico and his friends, and the present day search for her estranged daughter, Claire. A very moving and beautifully written novel.

Received this book from Queen72 as part of the US/Canada Wishlist Tag Game 2020. I am really looking forward to reading this, as the subject matter intrigues me. There aren't many fiction books dealing with the AIDS crisis, and it's really important to humanize the tragedy, because societal homophobia ended up killing people.
