Journal Entry 1 by Aisho from Knoxville, Tennessee USA on Saturday, July 13, 2002
Following the death of their mother, nine-year-old Olivia and four-year-old Nellie are sent to live with Great-Aunt Minty. She's old and creaky, and doesn't seem to mind her garden, whose flowers are buried beneath a tangled mess of weeds. Worse still, Aunt Minty doesn't understand how to appease demanding Nellie the way Livy does, which means sacrificing friends and freedom for peace. But then a mysterious blue cup turns up in the garden, and Livy discovers a storybook in which children at a tea party are transformed by fairies into flowers. Only by finding all the teacups can the flower children be freed from their spell, and with the help of Aunt Minty, the two sisters embark on an amazing journey to solve the mystery. In the process, all find unexpected pleasure and treasure, as neglected flowers and hurting hearts receive the love and attention they need to bloom again.
