I got this ex-library hardcover at a Goodwill thrift shop. I've enjoyed other books by Bayard, from Fool's Errand to The Black Tower. This one's a change of pace, a YA story of orphaned siblings trying to make their way in the world while staying together. Lots of sweet, funny bits here. (It also reminded me of the lovely Where the Lilies Bloom.)
