Not really about time itself, but about a random selection of topics with a loose connection to the overall theme of time and timekeeping: railway travel, music, watch-making, historic photographs... The connection to time is stretched pretty thin in a few of the chapters - I got the impression that the author just really wanted to talk about the topic, and shoe-horned time in there somewhere as an excuse.
Mostly interesting, although the final two chapters felt tacked on, and not as thoroughly researched as the earlier chapters. The overall impression I was left with was that the book is good, but not great.

Journal Entry 2 by Lytteltonwitch at Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Tuesday, August 15, 2017
I picked this book up at a meet up and forgot to do a catch note. I have finally read it and it took me ages. Parts of the book were interesting but overall I found it tedious. A book about time that didn't cover Greenwich, Time balls or Harrison's clock seemed very strange to me. Doesn't inspire me to read anything else written by this author.
