I bought all the books of the John Green-collection after reading "the fault in our stars". I thought, why not ring them so other people can enjoy them too.
Here is what I'm going to do, I will set every book in a ring. You can participate in one, two or even all of the rings. Of course, all the books will come back to me (it is a ring, not a ray).

The two books have arrived together in my hands. I will try to read them as soon as possible and send both of them to France. Bedankt rodespringbal.
I had heard so much about this book and the movie based on it, especially since I live close to Amsterdam and we hear in the news every now and then people stealing the bench where Gus and Hazel were sitting in the movie. I was avoiding it though, since I knew the general topic, as I personally was going through a serious illness story with my mom (who died in the meanwhile) and I was thinking that I am not ready to read a book about people being ill.
It has now been a year and a half from my mom's passing away and the book fell in my hands. I will be honest and say that in the beginning I didn't like it. I was thinking it is so pretentious and that I can't feel the book. I was thinking how I didn't really enjoy the book "An abundance of Katherines" of the same author and why am I trying once again with a book of his.
When it reached the middle of the story and at the point of the trip to Amsterdam, the book changed. Maybe the fact that I could live their trip in the city and I could really imagine the dinner by the canals and understand exactly how it looks the crazy biking people around and the canal boats (I had never thought that they look small to people from outside and neither that the spring flowers of the trees falling look so sweet - I have to check that in a few months). By the end the book had earned two to three more stars than what I was planning to give it in the beginning. The way Hazel faces the funeral is totally realistic. If you have lost somebody really dear to you, this is exactly how you feel.
Persisting to read it till the end paid of in this case!
I will contact the next one to send it.

On its way to Taiwan. Enjoy !
The book arrived yesterday. Can't wait to read it!
Thanks for sending this along. I do have a few before it. If I'm taking too long, please PM me and I'll get it moving again. I look forward to reading it.
The story about teens with cancer highlighted for me the human experience of "where's there's life, there's hope." Despite having a death-sentence diagnosis, Hazel and Augustus still chose to love one another and live their lives to the fullest extent possible for their circumstance. However, I did find their conversations somewhat contrived and unrealistic. The emotions and insight have so much potential with this subject matter; however, I found the literature to be lacking in sophistication and depth.
Sending this along to Samingo. A few names on the list wanted to be skipped.
Thanks for including me in this Ring and being so patient with me.

book arrived safely, thanks for sending.
Edit: I read the book when in hospital. It helped me cleaning my eyes, some passages really made me cry... I was a good book, I think young persons fighting cancer are much more solid in their lives than others the same age that are healthy.
I will now read the story again - in German and Russian languages...

Sorry for the delay in reading and sending this one.
And I completely forgot to make a JE!
Still, I really enjoyed reading this book. It is sad and heart-breaking but also fun and full of hope.

Great young adult fiction, very powerful! I’ve always been an easy cryer, but since my father died relatively young of lung cancer, these kinds of books hit me so hard. But I am able to read through the emotion and recognize how good this book is. I’ll be hanging on to it for a while I think
