A Dog's Life

I love the cover art but got bogged down in the dog's life. Last night I picked this up and opened it to a chapter on the dog's view of cats. This was so funny that I decided to give this another try before I release it.
I especially enjoyed the dog's take on cats and his "seven gestures of appeasement." The later is used in sequential steps when punishment appears to be forthcoming (ie, when one is in the dog house). My only problem is that step seven (when all else fails), is to bring out the giant, red, rubber cracker toy and squeek it sporatically until all is forgiven. Perhaps PetSmart will have one. I think these 7 steps may be useful for human to human appeasement, too. At least, that is fond hope!
