Blurb:
Summer 1924. On the eve of a glittering society party, by the lake of a grand English country house, a young poet takes his life. The only witnesses, sisters Hannah and Emmeline Hartford, will never speak to each other again.
Winter 1999. Grace Bradley, ninety-eight, one-time housemaid of Riverton Manor, is visited by a young director making a film about the poet's suicide. Ghosts awaken and old memories - long consigned to the dark reaches of Grace's mind - begin to sneak back through the cracks. A shocking secret threatens to emerge, something history has forgotten but Grace never could.
Set as the war-shattered Edwardian summer surrenders to the decadent twenties, The House at Riverton is a thrilling mystery and a compelling love story.

Thank you so much for sending this one, it's thick! I received the book today. And thank you so much for all those BC stickers that were very cleverly hidden in between the sheets, I haven't even located them all yet... :D
It'll go to my (ever expanding) Mt. TBR. For now.

Finally got the time to read the book. I liked it, reminded me a lot of Downton Abbey which I love. As I like to picture the people and places in my mind, so in my imagination Riverton looked like Downton Abbey and Mr. Hamilton like Carson. :D The story kept me interested all the way to the end, which I sort of figured out but it still surprised me a bit. So thank you for the opportunity to read this one ApoloniaX.
This is book 1/27 for my personal 'Reducing Mt. TBR: received in 2008-2016' challenge.
