This lucky little book has become part of Round 22 of iwillrejoice's Audiobook VBB! :)
I'm not sure what I was thinking this was going to be about. I guess I was thinking something primative by the image of the cover. But not really.
The parts that dealt with modern day in the story were a big 'snooze' but the stories from the past were lots of fun. So how do you rate it at that point? Who knows.
But on it goes to amuse someone else! ;)

This book was mentioned in The End of Your Life Book Club and I was intrigued. I'm thrilled to pick it up on audio so I can enjoy it during my work commutes. Thanks!
GREAT idea for a story -- the life and work of an ancient book conservator, juxtaposed with the lives and times of the people who handled the book in the past. It's a religious tome, so many of the times it was narrowly saved from being lost were during periods of religious or political unrest. These incidents also, logically, often result in geographical moves for the book.
I listened to an audio version, which was nice because I enjoyed the Aussie narrator, but I think I would have preferred the hard copy so I could keep better track of the characters.
