Tuiane is the top student at her school in the Cook Islands, and so her family club together to send her to Auckland to get a better quality of education. Staying with her aunt and adapting to Auckland Tuiane keeps a diary dealing with issues of not living in the Islands.

This book is aimed at children and early teens and is an easily accessible account of culture shock.

Received today along with an early birthday present (that package has been put aside to age for a few months) - thank you!

Now I can read this one before Return to One Foot Island. :)

Always interesting to see the similarities between Hawaiian and other Polynesian languages.

This was a quick read and I enjoyed the diary format.

I'll count this as my New Zeland read for kiwiinengland's 2015 Around the World Reading Challenge. :)
