Now that I'm actually delving into this, I actually like this book a lot. The main character, who has been tasked with taking care of elephants, is rather empathetic, and the reader gets to feel empathy for the elephants (and other animals) as well. Plot-wise the first 100 pages could use a little more oomph, but it's started off nicely.
