It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post. The Snow Goose

I remember this one from years ago. It looks like just the sort of brief read that I need right now. Thank you labmomnm and Happy 14!

This is a beautiful story of love and bravery. Loneliness, the healing of a lost, wounded Snow Goose, a haunting affaire de coeur and the Dunkirk rescue all somehow combine magically. I had forgotten the story and found I was once again deeply moved. I would like to send this on a special journey somewhere. Afterwards I will find a copy to keep myself.
THE SNOW GOOSE begins an international bookcrossing journey tonight. La Princesse Perdue will stop next in Canada, her native land.

Once I started reading this, I remembered that I had read it before. In First Form History way back in....79/80. We were doing a unit on the rescue from Dunkirk and were assigned this as part of our reading.
I had just come from Canada to live in England and I remember thinking it was a sign that we would read about a Canadian goose...a sign of what I can't seem to remember!
This heartwarming and heartbreaking story is timeless and will never ever grow dated.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
I did find some information about Paul Gallico and his other stories, that makes me want to go hunting for them now!

Thanks so much for sending this little book on to me. I'll read it as soon as I'm finished my current read.
Oh my...what a moving story! I loved it! I've send a PM to the next reader and will send it along as soon as she sends her mailing address.
Came to Älvhyttan four days ago.
Thanks to cordelia-anne for making a bookray and for sending a PM to me about it!
Thanks to valpete for sending it over the sea!
I've been having it on my reading wishlist for over 30 years now, so I'm very happy!
I been having problems for several years now to read paper-books because I'm hypersensitive to the scent of old paper, ink and a lot of other things. I listen to audiobooks and use an e-book reader, so I hesitated for about five minutes before I decides to say yes to this bookray. Those five minutes was a long time for me. :)
Luckily this book didn't smell much, just a little perfume, its now been standing open on a table in a room with a lot of ventilation since it came here.
Today it's a lovely weather here, sunny and a little windy, so we (the book, hubby, the cats and I) have had a nice time out in the garden. I have been reading aloud, hubby and the cats have been listening and bird-watching.
Half of the book is read and what a lovely story it is which gives beautiful pictures of the landscape, the people and the birds. I'm looking forward to read the rest of the book very soon. (and I hope for no allergic reactions)
