This just arrived; thank you very much!

I've been trying to read this over the last couple days, and not making much headway. The characters just aren't doing anything for me (admittedly, so far the MC is a teen, but plenty of authors manage to make teens less obnoxious to read about), and the author's word choice is a little too assertive for the historical-text-style I think she's going for, which is resulting in a lot of slow, confused moments as I squint at the book, trying to figure out why on earth she wrote phrases that sometimes wander out beyond purple and into the absurd.

Hopefully the next reader will be in a more patient mood!
