Hector is a successful young psychiatrist. He's very good at treating patients in real need of his help but many people he sees have no health problems: they're just deeply dissatisfied with their lives. When a patient tells him he looks in need of a holiday, Hector decides to set off round the world to find out what makes people happy.

Astonishingly easy read thanks to the children-oriented languages. I liked the style of narration and questions this book poses, despite not agreeing with the suggested conclusions

What an amazing little book! I asked the universe to pick the most relevant book for me and this was the one that came up. It is written in this children's story book like manner which made it easy to read (I finished it in two days). An adults fable so to speak.

I did agree with the lessons learnt in the book, and there were definitely some that stood out. Especially Lesson number 18, happiness could be the freedom to love more than one woman at the same time. Haha! This book made me consider psychiatry. I'm at the time in my life when i'm deciding between medical school, an arts degree or a teaching degree. The human mind is incredibly interesting,

I'd love to read more of Francios Lelord's books, especially the non-fiction one discussed in the back of the book. I couldn't name the settings discussed though, would the land of More be America? & the land with all the drugs Mexico? I dunno. Thank you for the opportunity to find this little gem and learn a few things about happiness (:
