I found this slightly-battered softcover at the Used Book Superstore, and thought it looked interesting - a manhwa about a Mongol princess who wants to be a warrior, intertwined with a young man who seems to have been displaced from modern times to the past...
Later: The book opens with a story-so-far summary which explains the premise, very helpful. The story begins with a contest to determine a new second-in-command to the Mongol tribes' general. A feisty Mongol princess wants to enter the contest, but even if she wins, will she be allowed to take such a high military post - and if so, at what price?
Meanwhile, our young hero is struggling to cope with his new/old life in 13th-century Korea, while wondering if he's going to be here permanently. His path crosses that of princess Atan Hadas under tricky circumstances (invasion plans/spies/warfare, much violence), and they wind up battling back-to-back... but despite their mutual attraction, they must part, for now.
Lavish artwork, period detail, political maneuvering - and a few touches of humor - intriguing series...

This book's going into AlterEgoZoe's Manga/Manhwa bookbox, which will be on its way to BCer azuki in Florida today. Hope someone enjoys the book!
Can't pass on the opportunity to read a manhwa series, as they are harder to find than Japanese ones. Thanks for sharing.
My interest in this book comes partly from the fond memory of The Legends of Condor Heroes, a novel about a Chinese boy growing up in Mongolia, sworn brother to Genghis Khan's son and the love of his daughter, but had to make hard choices when Genghis Khan invaded China. Seems like there is a bit of that going on here, a Korean boy falling in love with a Mongolian girl. In fact, with all the sword fights and female warrior, it feels very much like a Chinese martial arts manhua.
The plot hasn't progressed enough for me to comment much on, but definitely it's a series I will like to read more of.
