Extended Profile
I am a bookseller, as of this month, but I like to think I am different from most profit-minded booksellers. I trained in public libraries and once a librarian always a librarian. So I find it impossible to put a high price on a secondhand book, regardless
of its rarety, and I love doing book searches for people for free. Basically, I want to recycle books and make it easy for people to have interesting and beautiful books. I often left books on seats in bus shelters even before I heard of Bookcrossings because
I don't like to keep books that I am not reading, and I can never bear to throw ANY book away. So I have just started a new secondhand shop downstairs in my Victorian shopfront house in Melbourne, Australia (I started a similar one in my house in Salisbury,
England 3 years ago and it is still being run by someone else). The whole idea of running a bookshop is to share the books you like with other people. I'll pick just one and release it into the world for free.
