Extended Profile
I must admit - I started out life HATING to read. You see, I could read when I was three. That led to accelerated classes in school, which meant lots of testing, and skipping recess. Because of these things, I always associated reading with hard work.
What kid wants that?
This must have been heartbreaking for my parents and grandmother, who all are/were VORACIOUS readers. I'm happy to say that I am now part of this club, as is my younger sister, who thankfully didn't share my book phobia.
I mainly read non-fiction and reference books (can you say, "GEEK"?). I love 'adult' picture books (no, not that kind! Think "Griffin & Sabine"). I love Peter Mayle, Bill Bryson, and books about math. I love biographies about anyone, but mainly older celebrities (Elizabeth Taylor, Ava Gardner, Frank Sinatra, etc.). I love books about 20th century culture, and I love test prep books.
I can't WAIT to release some of my books into the wild, and I hope they have fruitful reincarnations!
Thanks, Mr. Hornbaker - what a fantastic idea. I've got a lot of people on board!
