Picked this up at our Pleasanton meet-up tonight from lisaxiii (our daughter!)
I like the journey it's already enjoyed - and couldn't resist the title and cover.

I can't wait to read this sequel to a wonderful book I just finished reading!
The amazing part: the book I just finished today - and loved - is Sister of My Heart - a bookray from pgsahm.
In re-reading these journal entries, I see pgsahm also started this book's journey, then by an amazing coincidence this book came to our daughter lisaxiii, then to me.
I love this added bonus story/bit of serendipity!

Honestly, I preferred the previous book: Sister of My Heart.
I still appreciate the beauty of language, the techniques of alternating voices, letters.
But this book set in the US lacked some of the magic/cultural mystique. And the story line with an uncomfortable triangle, a child - was disturbing.
Sending to Ella-Mae - part of a book relay!
Enjoy!

Received the book - thank you JDT!
I'm sending this book as a RABCK to be enjoyed and released by another bookcrosser. Bye bye little book!
Journal Entry 9 by trekwoman from -- Somewhere In The State --, California USA on Monday, September 26, 2005
Arrived in today's morning mail from Ella-Mae, thank you!
Previously I ran across this author's first book and summarily released "Sister of My Heart" just about a year ago to a friend, so I'm quite excited to read the next installment of the character's lives.

While I didn't like this book as much as its predecessor, I appreciated knowing most of what happened to Sunil, Anju, Sudha and Dayita.
Some of the outcomes surprised me, but they made sense in context with the characters' histories.
I'm curious as to whether these characters will work in a future storyline, when Dayita is the age of her mother and aunt.
Thanks for letting me read it. I hope the next person enjoys it, too.
