Really interesting account of a British student's year in Russia in the early 90s, a time of great change. Personal experiences and observations are woven in with factual and historical information. I first read this when I was studying Russia and myself about to visit, and found it just as informative and entertaining on a recent re-read. SOme episodes in it can seem a bit immature but that is only indicative of the age she was when she had these experiences and the honesty with which she has written them.
