Read October 2006.
Very compelling, very sad, funny (I laughed out loud a couple of times), scary, tragic.
Very human. I liked the fact that he raged and panicked and stoically put up with one of the most appalling, frightening kinds of cancer. Was he brave? Probably not, a lot of the time. There was much more to his story than was written here, in terms of sleepless nights and choking fits and terror. Was he a coward? Yes, as we all are. And if I go, when it is my time, as bravely as John Diamond did, I would be proud indeed.
