I've had a soft spot for this adventure featuring the Murry twins since I first read it, and the quote from the Song of Solomon on which the title is based seems particularly apt in the wake of the recent horrific events in Japan: "Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it." I very much want to believe that love and the human spirit will prevail in spite of the devastation.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

This book is off on a journey to find a new reader. Who knows, it might eventually find its way to an oasis somewhere!

I don't want to cause a theological controversy over whether or not seraphim & nephilim are real beings or legendary/mythological creatures! BUT...there are also unicorns in this book, so I'll count it as a March release for the 2011 Chills and Spills Read and Release Challenge based on the virtual steeds who only exist when someone believes in them. ;)

Can't wait to read this one.
Thank you so much for sending this my way.

Summary from Goodreads:

A touch of computer keys, a blast of heat, and suddenly the Murry twins,
Sandy and Dennys, are gasping in a shimmering desert land.
If only the brothers had normal parents, not a scientist mother and a father who experiments with space and time travel.
If only the Murry twins had noticed the note on the door of their mother's lab: EXPERIMENT IN PROGRESS. PLEASE KEEP OUT.

But it's too late for regrets.
There's a strange -- and very small -- person approaching,
with a miniature mammoth in tow....

At last it's Sandy and Dennys turn for an adventure -- an adventure that turns serious
when they discover that "many waters" are coming to flood the desert.
The twins must find a way back home soon, or they will drown.
But how will they get back to their own time?
Can they?
