It's a new month... time for some new bug fixes!
While Matt is still working on harnessing the book data that we all have contributed to, and making it available for searches, he's also been rather busy fixing other things, and even adding some nifty little features. Read all about it in this Announcements forum post. The Girl Who Chased the Moon: A Novel

Summer reading! I love this author.
The picture on this bookplate is of the window display at Blue Bicycle Books, in Charleston, SC. It somehow spoke to me.

I like the recipe of magic, love, and cooking that Sarah Addison Allen seems to stir into all her books. I read somewhere that sometimes the most enchanting bits (like the tree in Garden Spells or the power of cakes in this book, were not originally planned in the story, but wrote themselves in.
This book was lovely to read. Though perhaps not my favorite of the author's works, it still had some absolutely enchanting moments and some real surprises. For starters, I had the girl of the title pegged as the wrong girl from the start of the book. Even with that "reveal", I'm still not sure I was wrong, entirely. After all, more than one girl in the world has probably chased it.
I'll be taking this with me to give to one of the most magical girls in my life, my dear sister-in-heart, who I'll be seeing tomorrow for the first time in 2.5 years, back when our lives were oh so different. She's an Allen fan, too. There'll be laughter, tears, and more laughter, plus a lotta hugs, I'm sure.
