Stormy Weather
2 journalers for this copy...
I haven't read this one yet, but I do enjoy Carl Hiaasen so I look forward to being grossed out once again.

Release planned for Tuesday, September 09, 2003 at Starbucks--2326 First Avenue (at the Meetup) in Seattle, Washington USA.
Carl Hiaasen's books are always fun to read. And they go over well at the Meetup so I'll bring this one there Tuesday evening and see how many people will fight over it. Literature induces violence.

Hilarious and very well-written. Carl Hiaasen's story lines are similar to cartoons- everything seems to be going just fine, and then the safe drops out of the sky and clobbers you.
Hiaasen creates rich, funny charactors with every moral and ethical failing known to man. His "good guys" are likewise loveable in a rougue-ish sort of way. Even though there were no laser beams or giant fighting robot battles in this book, it's still an absolute winner. Not recommended for the humor-impaired or people who have high opinions of Florida, although the latter is a much smaller group.
