I once gave this book to a charity, and then bought it back for .50. It hadn't sold in a week and I just couldn't bare to let it go. In all honesty, I'm not sure I understand this book. It's a fairly easy read, but there is a dark side to it that I didn't really let myself realize. I really enjoy Yoshimoto's writing. Np is the story of a Japenese writer who wrote his last book in Boston and may never see print in Japan. Everyone who takes on the task of translating the book meet an untimely death, but don't for a second think that this book is a murder mystery.
