I've been after this book for a while and so was glad when I saw it today. Bought today at a table sale at Williamson Tunnel Heritage Centre where i 'm currently running an excavation.I know i've got too many books already but it was part of an eight books for £1.50 deal!!! Too good to pass up.

It is believed that these tunnels represent one of the largest man-made follies in Europe. As yet no one knows quite how far they extend as no map of the tunnels was ever made. The tunnels were constructed in the early 19th century in order to provide work for people who were demobbed after the Napoleonic Wars.
