This is book one of "The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever" and just the beginning of a great adventure. The best protagonists , in my humble opinion, have always been the reluctant ones. No one has ever been more reluctant than Thomas Covenant which makes it all the more possible to identify with him. There are some surprises ahead for you. Enjoy

I gave this book to a very good friend who has promised to release it when she is done reading it. I almost prefer this to the books I released a year ago that must have just been chucked in the garbage.

I am grateful to my friend who gave this to me to read. I have been reading mysteries, and look forward to reading this fantasy book.

Although I got hooked on the story, I found the main character frustrating to read about his actions. He always seems to just let things happen to him without questioning, even after he has started understanding the new world a little. I also found Mr. Donaldson's writing style a little too detailed for my taste (I am a compulsive reader-I read as non-stop as possible until I am finished). However, after finishing the book, I am hooked enough to have gotten the second book in the series out of my library to start reading.
