My thoughts on the book;

Not read by me, but I think I picked up in a charity shop as part of some bulk-buy deal. It was only when I got it home that I noticed the dedication in the front cover (spelling mistakes left in place);

"Xmas 99

Dear Earl,

A garanteed good read for a good new year - Merry Christmas!

Love Marvin, Jud, Suzanne, Owen"

I get the impression these people may have been American... names such as "Earl", "Jud" and certainly "Marvin" (if that's what it is, as it's hard to read) are not common to the UK, in my opinion. Perhaps this was one I picked up on board the MS "Explorer of the Seas" during my American cruise in 2010. That would explain it. ;-)

Below text / review taken from;

"A gripping World War II mystery novel with a cryptographic twist, Enigma's hero is Tom Jericho, a brilliant British mathematician working as a member of the team struggling to crack the Nazi Enigma code. Jericho's own struggles include nerve-wracking mental labour, the mysterious disappearance of a former girlfriend, the suspicions of his coworkers within the paranoid high-security project, and the certainty that someone close to him, perhaps the missing girl, is a Nazi spy.

The plot is pure fiction but the historical background, Alan Turing's famous wartime computing project that cracked the German U-boat communications code, is real and accurately portrayed. Enigma is convincingly plotted, forcefully written, and filled with well-drawn characters; in short, it's everything a good techno-mystery should be."

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I'll be leaving this on one of the display tables outside Chelmsford Library, in the lobby, around 12:45pm. At the moment, there's just one table; facing the library entrance, and displaying leaflets for a "Minerals Matter" consultation, from what I can see. I'll leave it on that one.

It'll have a yellow "PICK ME UP" note stuck on its front.

Microsoft Office Word Label and Bookmark Templates;

A lot of us BookCrossers use sheets of shop-bought sticky labels to put the BCID numbers on our books, myself included. I've made up several BookCrossing label templates and other bits and bobs in MS Word, and if you would like any of them, drop me a Private Message with your requirements, and I can directly link you to what might be suitable for you.

Templates are available in a wide range of label sizes and label brands, including;

Ascom
Avery
Banner (16 per A4 sheet)
Compulabel
Konica Minolta
MACO
Quill
Xerox

I also have a sheet of basic bookmarks with the BC logo and web address too. Oh, and I've even made up a Microsoft Word "mail merge" version of a Banner labels template, and put up an update to Yoko's "What is BookCrossing?" three-pane table "stand-up" / display tool too, authored by BookCrossing user Mr_Bearly.

If I don't have what you need, I can probably create it for you. Drop me a PM.
