I would recommend this book to everyone. It reminded me of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' as it tackles racial discrimination. However, whilst tackling a serious subject, it contains much humour, whilst still making you think. Just READ IT! and make up your own mind. A great book to share!

I *loved* this book! A great premise, lovely characters and so interesting. It's shocking when you remember that life was like this for black people until so recently. Hard to comprehend, especially as America prided itself on being pretty much the leader of the 'new' world ;-)

Lots of humour throughout, despite the serious subject, and Kathryn Stockett's writing is so good you can picture yourself right there.

It's very hard to choose a favourite, but I think my favourite character was Aibileen, although Minnie came very close because of the pie situation!

Highly recommended read.
