Q's Legacy

trade-size paperback.
from the back cover:
Here is the remarkable story of how Helene Hanff came to write 84, Charing Cross Road, and of all the things its success has brought her. Hanff recalls her serendipitous discovery of a volume of lectures by a Cambridge don, Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch. She devoured Q's book, and, wanting to read all the books he recommended, began to order them from a small store in London, at 84, Charing Cross Road. Thus began a correspondence that became an enormously popular book, play, and television production, and that finally led to the trip to England - and a visit to Q's study - that she recounts here.

Works as a companion to 84 and The Duchess. What really got me were the fan letters from England after 84 was published.

Sent along with 84, Charing Cross Road and The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street because it really didn't make sense *not* to.
Oh! Thank you, thank you for all three of the Helene Hanff books. I am hugely grateful for waterfalling's generosity! Awesome package chock full of books. It just doesn't get any better.
What a lovely addition to 84, Charing Cross Road and The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street! I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to read it. The two others are spending some time with a dear friend of mine that has been turned onto reading through my "BookCrossing". It has truly been a pleasure providing what I consider to be prime reading for her. She loved 84 and she's now saving Duchess. After I share this one with her I'll have to really think about what I may have in store for the trio. I'm tempted to plop them right into my permanent collection but then that would end their BC journeys. I'll give it some time.
I have searched and searched my own bookshelf to find this book and cannot come up with it. I don't like to make a journal entry on a book every time I want to note something - I usually like to "edit" the previous JE in order to avoid alerts going to all previous BookCrossers. So, sorry for any inconvenience, waterfalling...I simply can't come up with my shelf location (the book itself, is in my hand :-)
I'm loaning this gem out to my friend T at work. She's afraid of the internet stuff but is completely turning a new leaf in life and is reading everything I throw at her. She has read 84 and Duchess and simply must read this "prequel" in order to feel complete.

This little darling just returned home after spending a bit of time with my buddy, Terry. She's very much in love with this whole Helene Hanff series...we both wish there were more to read. I have yet to decide what to do with these books. I'm tempted to just keep them in my PC but then they will only be read by my family and not further journalled. I'll think about it.
